In modern industry, the labelling of products, packaging and components plays a central role. Large character printers, also known as large character inkjet printers (LCIJ), have established themselves as indispensable tools. They enable information such as batch numbers, production data, barcodes or logos to be printed directly onto products or packaging in large, easily legible font sizes - quickly, reliably and economically.

What are large character printers?

Large character printers are industrial inkjet printing systems that have been developed for labelling surfaces with large-format lettering (usually 10 mm to over 60 mm character height). They are primarily used in industries where information needs to be applied to larger packaging units or materials with rough surfaces - for example in the food, beverage, building materials, chemical or wood industries.

In production, large character printing usually takes place directly on the production line or downstream in the warehouse and in dispatch. It therefore makes sense to use systems that can be used both stationary and mobile as hand printers. TIJ technology makes this possible without any problems.

With the RED TIJ, either 2 production lines can be processed independently of each other in parallel or combined printing tasks can be carried out on one production line, for example uninterrupted printing or simultaneous labelling of 2 sides.
The different print heads can also be combined as required to achieve print outputs several centimetres high.
